ISC Intelligence in Science in association with the Irish Council Presidency in conjunction with Mr Seán Kelly MEP would like to thank you for your support and participation in “EU Science: Global Challenges, Global Collaboration (ES:GC2),” which took place at the European Parliament from 4 to 8 March 2013.
To capitalize on the successful conclusion of this five day event, we would like to extend a general invitation to the next “Global Challenges, Global Collaboration” conferences and seminars set to take place over the course of the next two years. The conferences and series of seminars scheduled for 2014 will be organised in conjunction with the launch of Horizon 2020, the EU’s funding instrument for collaborative research and innovation beyond 2014. The aim of these events is to increase international participation in Horizon 2020 by bringing together scientists, academics, leaders of industry and science policymakers from across the globe.
Building on the themes of ES:GC2, the events in 2014 will concentrate on Horizon 2020’s funding objectives for health, food security; secure and efficient energy; smart, green and integrated transport; inclusive, innovative and secure societies in addition to climate action, resource efficiency and use of raw materials. Throughout the meetings, topics involving current international science policies will be revisited and developed in addition to future policy innovations and their implications.
We look forward to your participation in what is anticipated to be a series of informative and dynamic debates.
ISC organised a meeting at the European Parliament on 21 January titled: "EU Development Aid: Experiences and Recommendations from Stakeholders Driving Science and Innovation", hosted by MEP Catherine Bearder.
