ES:GC2 Conference 2015

In 2015, ISC will convene the next biennial EU Science: Global Challenges, Global Collaboration Conference (ES:GC2) in Brussels. This event will be a follow-up to the
ES:GC2 Conference, which took place at the European Parliament in Brussels on 4 – 8 March 2013.

Owing to heightened security measures at the European Parliament in Brussels, the 2015 ES:GC2 Conference has been postponed from its initially-planned dates of 2 – 6 March. The new dates, upon confirmation, will be announced here.

Global challenges will be an underlying theme of discussions. Global collaborative science can play a central role in addressing shared global challenges and this needs to be enabled by the policy, regulatory, standards and funding environment. The ES:GC2 2015 will advance key policy options for science as well as support the global research networks needed to facilitate international cooperation.

Conference Objectives

  • Advance key themes of global scientific collaboration
  • Create opportunities for networking between Europe-based researchers with potential research partners around the world
  • Facilitate discussion on the regulatory, policy, standards and funding environment required for global research and development.
  • Increase international participation in Horizon 2020

The ES:GC2 2015 conference will have several key components:

  • Plenary Sessions

  • Scientific and Technical Seminars

  • Consortium Building Meetings

  • Training sessions and Workshops (e.g. IP, Patents, Horizon 2020 proposal writing)
